ˈwʌndəɪz(ə)m

noun

the main devotional system of the Astronist religion, based on states of awe, admiration and respect for various parts of the astronomical world, thus denoting laudation, adoration, and veneration respectively, which are referred to in the collective as wonderment; notable is the exclusion of worship.

A person receives wonderment from The Cosmos as a whole or from its component parts, such as astronomical progeny and phenomena. These instances of wonderment, whether manifested through laudation, adoration, or veneration, are considered as gifts (known as conferments) from The Cosmos, specifically driven by the ordering force of the Astran. These conferments are understood to possess philosophical, existential, spiritual, and/or religious insight and consequence, especially with regards to the state of one’s astronality.
